In addition to his private practice in Holmdel, New Jersey, Dr. Aldredge is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Dental Implantology at Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY; a member of the Dental Hygienist Advisory Committee and guest lecturer at Middlesex County College, Edison, NJ; and an attending faculty member at Newark Beth Israel Hospital, Newark, NJ.
In 1988, Dr. Aldredge received his Biology degree from Stockton State College and his D.M.D. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry - New Jersey Dental School in 1992. He completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Moncrief Army Community Hospital, Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina and earned his Post-graduate Periodontal Degree at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Army Veteran
From 1993 to 1996, Dr. Aldredge practiced general dentistry as an Army Captain at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he also coached the Army Rugby Team.
Researcher/Author
Dr. Aldredge was a Research Investigator on two major projects: (1) A Pivotal, Randomized, Parallel Evaluation of rhBMP-2/ACS and Standard Bone Grafting Materials for Maxillary Sinus Floor Augmentation, and (2) A Multi-center Phase 3 Trial of Minocycline Periodontal Therapeutic System (Arestin™): Adjunctive Use in Patients with Adult Periodontitis. Both of these medical devices have since received FDA Approval.
Educator
Dr. Aldredge gives lectures, presentations and symposiums to colleges, hospitals and dental societies on topics including:
- Guided Bone Regeneration - A Staged Approach to Implant Placement
- Dental Implants and Surgical Techniques
- Localized Delivery of Chemotherapeutic Agents
- Connective Tissue Grafting
He has recently opened his own Advanced Education Center of Holmdel at his Holmdel practice to keep dentists, dental students, dental staff and patients up to date on the latest research and products.
Professional and Community Involvement
Dr. Aldredge is also on the Board of Directors of the Northeastern Society of Periodontists - the largest regional periodontal society in the United States - and past president of the New Jersey Society of Periodontists. Dr. Aldredge was a member of the Task Force which developed and wrote the “Guidelines for the Management of Patients with Periodontal Disease” and the Statement on “Risk”. The Guidelines were distributed to every dentist in the United States.
He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration, American Board of Periodontists, Northeastern Society of Periodontists, New Jersey Society of Periodontists, and International Congress of Oral Implantologists. With his prior certifications in Advanced Cardiac and Advanced Trauma Life Support, he is a qualified member of the National Emergency Medical Response Team (NEMRT) and a Police Surgeon.
Dr. Aldredge has also been active as a wrestling coach, including the PAL Wrestling Team in Cranford, New Jersey, and other youth wrestling teams.
Dr. Aldredge lives in Monmouth County, New Jersey with his wife and their two sons.
