LANAP® Laser-Assisted Gum and Bone Treatment

A minimally invasive laser treatment to fight advanced periodontal disease.

As periodontal disease progresses, bacteria thriving in deep gingival pockets attacks and destroys the gum and bone tissue that hold your teeth in place.

With the advanced LANAP laser procedure, Dr. Aldredge can actually regrow and reattach that missing gum and bone. LANAP stands for Laser-Assisted "New Attachment" Protocol.

No cutting, no grafting, no suturing

LANAP eliminates the cutting, grafting and sutures of traditional surgery. Instead, Dr. Aldredge uses a precisely focused laser beam to clean bacteria, debris and diseased gum tissue away from healthy teeth and gum tissue.

By clearing out invasive material, the LANAP treatment creates the ideal conditions the body needs to heal itself.  Gum and bone tissue naturally regenerates and reattaches to teeth, holding them securely in place with renewed support and protection.

LANAP vs Traditional Surgery

The LANAP laser-assisted procedure is minimally invasive compared with conventional surgery, resulting in less bleeding, less swelling, and less discomfort during and after treatment.

The LANAP procedure takes less treatment time than traditional surgery, generally two 2-hour visits and one follow-up versus four surgery sessions, removal of sutures, and follow-ups.

LANAP patients have a shorter recovery period, typically less than 24 hours, so you don't lose time from your daily activities.

The LANAP procedure has excellent results.  98% of patients treated with LANAP maintain stable gum and bone attachment after 5 years.

Dr. Aldredge is one of the few periodontal surgeons in Monmouth County performing LANAP laser surgery, as well as as another laser procedure for implants called LAPIP.  When he says "I Save Teeth" the successful results of this advanced technology is exactly what he is talking about.

We also offer traditional treatment (guided tissue regeneration, osseous (bone) surgery and gum graft surgery) to reattach and encourage growth of gum and bone tissue.  See Dr. Aldredge to determine which is the best option for you .
